Job Description

We are working with our client, PCM, to find a CAD Technician to join their expanding technical team.

PCM are looking to recruit a CAD Technician, to provide accurate and compliant SolidWorks engineering drawings in both 2D and 3D format.

Established in 1983, PCM are a leading manufacturer in custom load cells, strain gauge installations and force calibration. We work closely with our customers providing unique engineered solutions in the force measurement field.

PCM are accredited to ISO9001 and UKAS 17025:2017 for force calibration.

Our teams work with state-of-the-art machinery in a very clean and desirable, newly refurbished working environment using high specification equipment and computers. We work with exciting, high-profile customers and are considered to be at the cutting edge of our sector. As part of your role, you will work alongside our Technical Manager and Design Engineer to deliver component drawings to external fabrication for product realization.

You will also:

  • Be involved with new and current products.

  • Produce and manage BOM.

  • Carry out inspection of machined components.

  • Communicate between commercial and production providing work instructions.

  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate to subcontractors, as well as suppliers. Maintain an accurate database.

  • Involved in 3D printing of production components.


  • To be successful in this role you must be proficient with SolidWorks

  • Have knowledge of programming such as Python/VBA or MATLAB

  • Have a can-do approach and work to tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills and work as part of a team, finding better ways in completing tasks.
