At Salinity Solutions, we have an exciting opportunity available for a Field Engineer to join our growing team in Birmingham with a competitive salary of £42,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience. We have developed the next generation of reverse osmosis.
Our cutting edge, compact and highly efficient industrial water treatment system uses half the energy of semi-batch reverse osmosis and conventional reverse osmosis systems and will dramatically reduce the energy footprint of a wide range of industrial processes. About Our Company:
Salinity Solutions is a growing company that has developed a water purification technology which uses half the energy of traditional methods. Its patented, high efficiency Batch Reverse Osmosis system is believed to be the biggest step forward in water treatment in 50 years.
Salinity was created as a spin out from the University of Birmingham in 2021, following 10 years of research and development. We have spent the last three years developing and testing the system to be ready for commercial applications.

About The Role:
We are now seeking a field engineer to work with our engineering team and delivery partners to manage our hybrid batch reverse osmosis system trials and operational plants ensuring they run as effectively as possible in the field.
What you will be doing:
You will be on location when systems are commissioned and to support systems in service. The field engineer is responsible for:
- Maintenance
- Monitoring
- Troubleshooting
- Commissioning
- Testing
- System modifications
- Data analysis
- System optimisations
- Using effective communication to train stakeholders in using equipment
The role is customer-facing and will combine working in the UK and internationally with Salinity’s chemical, mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as those of our customers and delivery partners. You will become a hands-on expert in the functional performance of our market leading hybrid batch reverse osmosis systems, enabling customers to dramatically improve their water treatment efficiency and quality.
You will need:
- Qualification: BEng, HNC/D or equivalent preferred
- Experience working with membrane specific technologies, ideally water process technologies and reverse osmosis systems.
- Field experience of commissioning, maintaining and monitoring of water treatment systems or process equipment
- Excellent organisational, time management, communication skills
- Experience working with waste, process and industrial waters.
- Full Driving Licence
- Ability to travel internationally to France, India and South America.
