Job Description

We are working with IAPS who have an exciting opportunity for a Project Lead to join their team based in Warwick. You will join IAPS on a full-time, permanent basis, working 35 hours per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.

IAPS is the association for world-class prep and junior Headteachers. Its members lead excellent schools and deliver the highest standards of education and care to their pupils.

In line with IAPS’s new strategy, the organisation is growing their Projects team and are looking for an eager, enthusiastic, and committed person to fill their new role of Project Lead and help to make their range of ambitious projects into a reality for their members. Reporting to the Head of Strategy, you will be working in a team of Project professionals with opportunities to grow and develop your role.

What you will be doing as the Project Lead:

  • Assist project sponsors in clarifying, articulating and suitably capturing the objectives and deliverables of projects;

  • Assist in the identification and mitigation of risks, to ensure activities are feasible at the planning stage and delivered without unanticipated delay or cost;

  • Create and maintain various project documents and deliverables, successfully bringing clarity, rigour and accountability to project activity;

  • Track the progress of actions against the strategy, holding regular meetings with colleagues to maintain the necessary focus on activity, assisting with re-planning and prioritising where necessary;

  • Provide regular written reports on project progress, for submission to the Board;

  • Lead the evaluation of each project at its conclusion, providing feedback on the learning to ensure the continuous improvement of IAPS’s strategy delivery effort;

  • Play an ongoing role in the delivery of key projects once they enter the production phase;

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure success;

  • Undertake such other duties as are compatible with the nature of the post.

What we are looking for in the Project Lead:

  • Experience of the educationsector is desirable, but not essential.

  • Experience of successful delivery as part of a fast-moving team.

  • Knowledge of project methodologies, with the desire to develop and achieve qualifications in this area (a project qualification would be advantageous).

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to excellence.

  • Excellent time management with a clarity of thinking that allows a focus on the most important task, insight, or action.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and explain complex ideas.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities to demanding timescales.

  • Ability to learn new skills quickly.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
