Job Description
We are excited to be working with Heartwood Tree Surgeons Ltd to recruit a Financial Assistant to join their Finance Team in Kenilworth. We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual with a love of the outdoors and a desire to be part of a high-growth business. You will be joining Heartwood on a full-time, permanent basis, working in-person 40 hours per week (flexible for the right candidate). In return, you will receive a salary ranging from £24k-£25k per annum, depending on experience.
As Heartwoods Finance Assistant your key responsibilities will include:
Maintaining Sales Ledger
Prepare Sales invoices / send to clients
Maintaining Purchase Ledgers
Input purchase invoices, coding and departments
Ensure all purchase invoices are authorised
Prepare weekly payment run info (after authorisation)
Maintaining Bank & Cash
Coding and matching from bank feed
Bank reconciliation
Chasing debtors as necessary
Preparing & posting journals
Prepare wages (Cover only)
Manage holiday requests
Additional ad hoc duties (e.g., operational and office admin tasks)
What we are looking for in the Financial Assistant:
Previous experience in similar accounting / bookkeeper role
Experience in Sage
Knowledge of VAT and CIS rules
Good Excel and Analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Attention to detail
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
