Job Description

We are working with our client Procter and Chester (Measurements) Limited to find a Production Technician.


About Us:

Established in 1983, PCM are a leading manufacturer in custom load cells, strain gauge installations and force calibration. We work closely with our customers providing unique engineered solutions in the force measurement field.


PCM’s quality management system is certified to ISO9001 and our calibration laboratory is accredited by UKAS to ISO17025:2017 for force calibration.


Our team works with state-of-the-art machinery in a newly refurbished working environment using high specification equipment and computers. We work with exciting, high-profile customers and are considered to be at the cutting edge of our sector. PCM are well-established and are experiencing a period of growth, increasing opportunities for our team to be involved in ground-breaking new technologies and projects.


Our ideal candidate must have exceptional work quality, and an ability to complete work to the very highest standard within tight deadlines is crucial.


Please note, if you are a candidate who is looking to pursue an apprenticeship or a further education qualification, PCM would also be happy to fully support and fund this.


This role involves:

· Assembling and testing products in accordance with work instructions, test procedures, quality standards and drawings.

· Recording installation data.

· Dealing with small batch intricate and complex builds that are often bespoke designs.


Key Responsibilities:

· Bonding, fine soldering, wire routing, testing and coating.

· Using small hand tools.

· Ensuring computer-based records are maintained as required.


Key Skills:

· Work with accuracy and attention to detail.

· Adopt a methodical approach to all tasks.

· Be practically minded with good hands-on experience.

· Have a willingness to learn, not afraid to ask questions.

· Be prepared to carefully read instruction manuals and specifications.

· Able to work to deadlines and maintain concentration under pressure.


Requirements:

GCSE English & Maths at Grade C or above.

Able to work unsupervised as part of a team, with the ability to prioritise and solve problems.


What We Offer:

Salary: £24,000 - £28,000, Permanent, Full-Time.

Holidays: 25 days per annum + bank holidays.

37.5 Hour Working Week: Monday-Thursday: 8:30-17:00, Friday: 8:30-14:30.
